All our evaluations are modular and may be adapted to suit your specific needs. We do not currently accept insurance for evaluations or therapy. Evaluations can be paid by contract with various agencies, if applicable, or out-of-pocket. We offer the following evaluation tiers:
- Full psychological evaluations. Used to assess mental health, behavioral health, and personality-level issues, these are typically requested in legal contexts, such as post-divorce circumstances, or for individuals working with the Department of Human Services. Our highest tier of evaluation, the psychological evaluation is considered comprehensive, with extensive testing and interview time with Dr. Baroffio. You may be referred for a psychological evaluation if you have a history of mental health issues, have been previously diagnosed with a psychiatric condition, or are struggling with multiple diagnoses, to include substance misuse. A retainer for testimony may be included here, if necessary. These evaluations start at $3500 (or by contract)..
- Mental health evaluations. Used to assess for mental health and personality features, these evaluations typically do not include a retainer/need for testimony, and are often requested if a person is suspected to have a psychiatric condition that may be interfering with their life, but do not have an extensive history of mental health issues or multiple diagnoses, to include substance misuse conditions. These evaluations start at $2000 (or by contract)..
- Diagnostic evaluation. This evaluation is used for the sole purpose of rendering a diagnosis and is often requested in order to pursue a different level of care. For example, if a parent suspects that their child may have ADHD, autism, or another condition, a diagnostic evaluation may confirm this and allow the family to seek specialized care. These evaluations start at $500 (or by contract)..
- Cognitive evaluation. This evaluation is used to assess for cognitive/comprehension issues only. It may be added to another evaluation if the individuals level of cognitive functioning needs to be assessed. This is commonly requested for school planning for children and starts at $500 (or by contract)..
- Neuropsychological evaluation. This highly specialized and comprehensive evaluation has all the features of a full psychological evaluation, as well as adaptive testing, achievement assessment, and cognitive functioning assessment. This type of evaluation is time-intensive and should only be requested if a person has experienced significant changes in functioning, such as those often seen following traumatic brain injury, brain-based illnesses, or drug overdose. This evaluation starts at $4500 (or by contract)..
- Competency/guardianship evaluation. This evaluation is usually requested when a person is pursuing guardianship for an individual, looking to change guardianship status, or attempting to assess if a person is capable of engaging in legal matters. We are often asked to do evaluations by the state, bar associations, or an individuals legal representative for these purposes. These evaluations start at $2500 (or by contract).
- Substance abuse evaluation. Administered by Justin Turnage, these evaluations assess an individuals status with substance misuse and/or their progression through the sobriety process. Often requested for a person involved in legal or DHS matters, these evaluations start at $500 (or by contract).
- Comprehensive lifecycle and environment evaluation. Offered by Angie Baroffio, MFT, these evaluations assess a family's living circumstances, relational environment, socioeconomic context, and history to provide a comprehensive picture of their life. Used to assess for areas that may require additional support or to investigate unexplored features that factor into a family's mental health, these evaluations are often requested in the context of DHS involvement, or in other circumstances of high family stress. They begin at $2000.
We do not take insurance at this time.
Depending on the provider and service, yes. Most evaluations cannot be conducted virtually. Therapy and some tiers of family visitation may be virtual.
Mr. Kravec and Ms. Baroffio offer the following tiers of supervision for families. Please note that typically, family visitation happens by court order and/or is paid for by contracts with Departments of Human Services. However, private pay/out-of-pocket visitation is also available (price upon request).
- Therapeutic family supervision. Our highest tier of visitation, this type of service is often requested in cases where there is a safety concern for a child, to include abuse, neglect, or questions of parental sobriety and mental health status. This service includes therapeutic time with a mental health professional to accompany visitation time between parents/caregivers and children.
- Supervised visitation. Similar to therapeutic family visitation, this type of service is often requested in cases where there is a safety concern for a child, to include abuse, neglect, or questions of parental sobriety and mental health status. Visits are continuously supervised, but the professional doesn't typically "intervene" or provide direct therapeutic contact.
- Monitored visitation. Usually requested in transition periods, the provider may transport a child or remain nearby during the visit, but they do not directly supervise. The provider may or may not facilitate transportation of the child.
- Unsupervised visitation. The provider may or may not facilitate transportation of the child, and does not typically remain in the area for the visit, unless the visitation is occurring in our office. It is not supervised.
Please note that we hold both in-person and virtual hours - contact us to ensure that there is an administrator present if you plan to visit our office in person without an appointment.
